Inclusion and Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

Every child has the right to an education and we try to help children overcome any challenges they may have to learning.

Article 28: Every child has the right to an education.
Article 23: Children who have any kind of disability should have special care and support so that they can lead full and independent lives.

Stag Lane Primary School is committed to providing an inspiring, safe and caring environment in which all pupils are challenged and supported to maximise their potential.

Everyone at Stag Lane Primary School is part of the inclusion team. Support starts in the classroom, playground and lunch hall where staff adapt the learning environment and learning journey to meet the needs of each child. Our Assistant Headteacher and Inclusion Leader is Farah Tahirkheli, who can be contacted at office@staglaneprimary.co.uk

Our Governors with responsibility for SEN are Mr Amrit Bhat & Ms Antoinette Watts.
You can download our ‘school offer’ for pupils with SEN below. In the documents, we answer questions about what sort of approaches we use and how and where you can find out more.

Harrow's Local Offer website is an online resource for children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs or disability. It has everything you need to know about local services and provision. To find out more about the Local Offer please click here: Harrow Local Offer

A message from the Stag Lane Inclusion Leader

"My name is Farah Tahirkheli and I am the Assistant Headteacher and Inclusion Leader at Stag Lane. I started working here in September 2019 but have also worked as the Inclusion Leader at my previous school, so I am very familiar with procedures and the best ways to maximise children’s learning.

Everyone at Stag Lane is part of the Inclusion Team. Support starts in the classroom, playground and lunch hall where staff adapt the learning environment and learning journey to meet the needs of each child. This enables each child to make the best possible progress and ensures that they are a valued member of the wider school community.

Communication between parents and school is a key part of providing children with the best experiences and opportunities possible. I operate an open-door policy and welcome parents and carers. I am available at office@staglaneprimary.co.uk so please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need any support in regard to your child’s education, health or well-being needs."
