COVID Information

During lockdown when the school is closed, we are still open daily but only for children of Critical workers and other Vulnerable children. Those parents/carers have had their places confirmed and the children have settled in well already.

For the significant majority of our children and our community, the guidance is clear...STAY AT HOME. We thought it might be helpful to attach the latest Government Guidance for you to refer to... Click Here for the latest information.

We will only open for children, where they meet the following criteria:

  • Both parents/carers are critical workers or key workers, namely (updated 31.12.20):
    • Health and social care
    • Education and childcare
    • Key public services
    • Food and other necessary goods
    • Public safety and national security
    • Transport
    • Utilities, communication and financial services

  • Children are identified as vulnerable, namely (updated 31.12.20):
    • Children with an EHCP (or have one pending approval)
    • Children with a social worker
    • Children looked after/ adopted
    • Children in temporary housing
    • Children with no access to the internet or a device for learning at home

We will not be running any before or after school clubs, for the foreseeable future.

We will only open for children, where they meet the following criteria:

Do NOT show any COVID symptoms
  • Have no one in their household currently with symptoms or has tested positive
  • They are not self-isolating following a positive COVID test or have been traced to self-isolate
The key symptoms are:
  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

All other children will learn from home ( online remote learning). Click here for more information.
You will appreciate with over 850 children in our school community, their families as well as over 100 staff and their families, we must make a decision which feels the safest option at this uncertain and unprecedented time.
If you have any questions or queries, please email Mrs Will on office@staglaneprimary.co.uk

Alternatively, you can call the school office from 9.30 am if you want to confirm any arrangements regarding your child if you are a critical worker or if your child is a vulnerable child.
