Welcome from our Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted that you and your child are joining Stag Lane Primary School and Nursery this coming September. On behalf of the staff, governors, children and parents, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you and your family to our school. It is an exciting time to join us.

We usually write to you to invite you to several events this term to welcome you to our school and meet your child’s Class Teacher. However, because of the current Covid-19 situation, this is not possible. We find ourselves in an unprecedented set of circumstances and understand the anxieties you may have about your child’s transition into reception. Despite these unusual circumstances, we feel we have put together plans which are practical and above all mutually beneficial in supporting the best possible start to your child’s school life.

We have created a new section on our website with information that you may need to know before your child attends school. This section is relevant for children of all ages who are attending Stag Lane Primary School for the first time.

We have answered many of the common questions in this section, however, please email our school office at office@staglaneprimary.co.uk if you have an urgent or unanswered question and we will respond as soon as we can.

We will talk to pre-schools and nursery settings, as we always do, to find out about your child’s learning and development. We will also talk to you to find out more about your child. These conversations will take place within the context of a Stay & Play visit to the school in September and at a specially allocated meeting on either 2nd September or 3rd September. We will post or email the exact details.

Our promise to parents and carers is that we will work together with you, to ensure your child’s start at school is both exciting and positive.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our Stag Lane family.

Kindest regards,
Nina Will
Headteacher.
